Mark Seymour appointed CEO of Living Ideas to lead bold vision for regional and urban renewal

Living Ideas is proud to announce the appointment of Mark Seymour as its inaugural Chief Executive Officer, a pivotal step in the organisation’s mission to transform the conversation around urban renewal, infrastructure, and sustainable regional development.

Mr Seymour is a highly experienced advisor with extensive expertise across both public and private infrastructure projects, and a distinguished record of shaping some of Sydney’s most significant urban renewal initiatives.

With a strong background in government, he has developed a reputation for his unique ability to bridge government, industry, and community perspectives to deliver projects that endure.

“Living Ideas is about more than projects – it’s about building partnerships that change the way we think about communities, cities, and sustainability. I am honoured to take on this role and look forward to working with our board, our members, and our partners to ensure Living Ideas becomes a leading voice for innovation and renewal in Australia,” Mr Seymour said.

Known for his commitment to engagement, environmental integration, and long-term sustainability, Mr Seymour’s leadership style reflects Living Ideas’ values and purpose.

His appointment signals the organisation’s determination to set a new benchmark in how infrastructure and development projects are conceived, debated, and delivered.

Living Ideas Chaimanr Rob Furolo said the appointment of Mr Seymour as CEO is a defining moment in the organisation’s early journey.

“Mark is the ideal leader to take Living Ideas forward. He understands how to unite government, industry, and communities around a shared vision. His experience on some of Sydney’s biggest projects means he brings the skills, insights, and credibility we need to influence the future of infrastructure and urban renewal in Australia,” Mr Furolo said.

The launch of Living Ideas at NSW Parliament House drew MPs, Ministers, and leaders from across corporate, legal, technology, and development sectors. With Mr Seymour at the helm, the organisation is now focused on turning conversations into action – championing projects and ideas that balance economic growth with social and environmental responsibility.
